As the mandate of the European Community Monitor Mission (ECMM) for the ceasefire in Slovenia was extended to Croatia, the EC member-states started sending young diplomats and military officers to the newly formed teams.
Based in Zagreb, the teams visited both sides of the conflict - in this particular case the Croatian and the Krajina Republic Serbian one - in order to monitor and provide independent verification of the withdrawal of heavy arms and on the refugee situation.
I served there in July and August 1992.

These images form part of my published diary "Monitor in Croatia".
